Are you our new junior structural engineer?

We're looking for a motivated, collaborative structural engineer, with up to two years' experience in a structural engineering role, to join our team.

If you have mining processing and plant experience, even better - though not essential.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Provide a high-quality engineering contribution to enhance the reputation of the company and support the organisational goal of continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations and Australian and International standards as appropriate
  • Provide structural engineering design for new plant and processes, and/or modifications to mining processing plant and systems
  • Ensure all design projects are completed by required deadlines and budget or within lump sum constraints
  • Keep up to date with new materials and technologies
  • Design cost-effective equipment modifications on client projects to improve safety
  • Ensure products can be made reliably and will perform consistently in specified operating environments
  • Consider cost, safety, quality and time constraints
  • Provide technical support to manufacturers, subcontractors, site and client personnel as appropriate
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers and external manufacturers to solve complex problems
  • Ensure technical queries from manufacturing contractors and installation contractors are responded to in a timely manner
  • Prepare cost, time and resource estimates for engineering projects
  • Prepare and deliver engineering presentations both internally and externally as required
  • Use research, analytical, conceptual and planning skills, particularly those in mathematical modelling and computer-aided design
  • Forge strong working relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers and the Wilshaw team

  • Demonstrated ability to build sound and effective working relationships with clients, contractors and colleagues
  • Strong commitment to ensuring the proper implementation of client, company policies and procedures with particular regard to quality assurance and safety.
  • Genuine interest in the ideas of other employees and a willingness to cooperate with all members of the team to maintain a harmonious and collaborative working environment
