WILSHAW DESIGNED & SUPPLIED STRUCTURAL EQUIPMENT FOR HV CABLE INSTALLATION & PERMANENT SUPPORT IN MIE VENTILATION SHAFT
Wilshaw designed and supplied all structural equipment for the 608m HV cable installation and permanent support in MIE’s ventilation shaft at Beta Hunt Operations
A technically challenging job, the team addressed several obstacles to ensure a safe and successful outcome.
As the shaft was not completely vertical the installation required a guide rope system to be installed to keep the equipment away from the shaft walls during and after the installation.
The design works included the support system which mounted in place of the upper redundant headframe and a rope tie-off at the shaft bottom to anchor the equipment, and HV cable clamps.
Wilshaw designed and specified all installation equipment including crane, winch and winch anchoring, stainless steel guide and catenary ropes, and provided drawings and methodologies to enable the works to be undertaken in a safe and controlled manner.
Working collaboratively with all teams, we delivered our project component safely, smoothly and successfully.
